Buffalo Bills Addressing Issues at New Highmark Stadium Amid Fan Feedback

The Buffalo Bills are actively addressing criticisms about their new stadium. These concerns include issues such as partially obstructed sightlines. The team announced that they are handling feedback on a case-by-case basis.

The criticisms emerged after fans got their first complete experience at the $2.1 billion Highmark Stadium during the annual Blue and Red practice event held on Saturday night. While the majority of fans shared positive feedback, a few complaints were noted. Team president Pete Guelli mentioned that these complaints represented less than 1% of the personal seat licensing holders.

Obstructed Views

One significant concern involved seats with obstructed views. Several photos circulating on social media highlighted this issue. The team clarified that at least one photo, taken by The Associated Press, was from seats not intended for football games. These seats, located in the last row of Section 417 in the stadium’s northwest corner, had views mostly blocked by the press box outcropping.

A team official mentioned these seats could still be used for other events, such as concerts, where the obstruction wouldn’t be an issue. Other images showed seats with partial obstructions caused by railings and staircases. For these seats, prospective ticket buyers had a virtual tour available, illustrating the potential view from each seat.

The team plans to evaluate each complaint and use the next six weeks to address any details before the Bills’ regular-season home opener against Detroit on September 17.

Upcoming Games and Stadium Design

The Bills are set to play two home preseason games, commencing with a game against Carolina this Saturday.

Highmark Stadium’s design drew inspiration from Premier League’s Tottenham Hotspur’s home, which also hosts NFL games in London. Bills owner Terry Pegula was impressed by the Hotspur stadium, noting it had very few bad seats. The Bills aim for similar results at Highmark Stadium, which boasts a seating capacity of 60,108.
