Brawl Erupts in Mexican Baseball League Between Toros de Tijuana and Acereros de Monclova

Chaos erupted during the fourth inning of the Liga Mexicana de Béisbol game on Sunday night. The match was between the Toros de Tijuana and the Acereros de Monclova. A play unfolded where a runner attempted to score when a ground ball to third base wasn’t handled cleanly. Despite the effort, the runner was tagged out by the third baseman.

The runner involved was Tijuana’s Danry Vasquez, who has a history of violent behavior. Following the tag, Vasquez responded aggressively, throwing punches. This marked a notable incident, bearing in mind his past arrest and charges of domestic violence that led to his release from the Houston Astros.

The tag seemed routine, not warranting the reaction it received. Vasquez escalated the situation by hitting the Monclova third baseman Rodolfo Amador. A physical fight ensued, intensifying the scene with both teams clearing their benches.

Before the chaos fully unfolded towards the mound, Vasquez could be seen kicking Amador while he was down. Shortly after, Monclova first baseman Ryan Hernandez retaliated, knocking Vasquez to the ground with a forceful move.

Following the brawl, World Baseball reports state that Vasquez has been suspended indefinitely by the Liga Mexicana de Béisbol. Additionally, both Vasquez and Toros pitcher Adonis Medina were ejected from the game, along with Monclova’s Ryan Hernandez and Jecksson Flores.

Reports from journalist Rosa Lilia Torres indicated that Hernandez left the ballpark in an ambulance, having sustained a broken arm during the fight. Vasquez’s actions in the game were seen as unwarranted, supporting the view that his presence on a team could be problematic due to his unpredictable behavior.
