Authorities have confirmed the identity of a body found in a Texas creek as Rana Nofal Soluri, a missing flight attendant. Her body was located by a fisherman on June 13 in Brushy Creek, Montague County, approximately 70 miles northwest of Fort Worth. The University of North Texas Health’s Center for Human Identification conducted DNA testing, which confirmed her identity, according to a Fort Worth Police Department spokesperson speaking to NBC News.
Rana Nofal Soluri, aged 47, worked for Envoy Air, a regional branch of American Airlines. She had been missing since March 2025. At the time, she was on leave following a minor operation and was scheduled to resume work on March 31, 2025. A co-worker reported her disappearance on June 11, 2025, after unsuccessful attempts to contact her.

In June 2025, authorities charged Dennis Day, Soluri’s former roommate and a longtime friend, with her murder. Day, aged 67, reportedly confessed to strangling Soluri during a dispute, according to an arrest warrant. He allegedly told police he moved her body and dumped it roughly 70 miles away, tossing it over a bridge.
Investigators found surveillance footage from Day’s home showing him dragging what seemed to be a lifeless body to the backyard on March 21, 2025. An accidental phone call recorded Day seeking assistance from another woman, identified as Joni Thomas, also known as Joanne Walters, aged 63, who was later charged with tampering with evidence.

Thomas allegedly assisted Day in disposing of Soluri’s body. Prosecutors remarked that Day had bragged about escaping conviction due to the absence of Soluri’s body, citing records from the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney’s Office, as reported by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
A GoFundMe page for Soluri’s daughter, Lulu Soluri, mentioned that American Airlines arranged for her mother’s remains to be transported to Seattle for a Muslim burial on September 29. Lulu intends to visit Texas for the pending court case, expecting to give a statement. The fundraiser highlighted Lulu’s gratitude for the support received during this time.
Lulu’s sentiment, shared on the GoFundMe page, expressed her deep appreciation for everyone who offered support: “Lulu thanks everyone for their support. She is always overwhelmed knowing how many people have helped her during this process.”
