American Airlines Flight 2398 was en route to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) from Atlanta. The crew notified the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) about the laptop battery fire as the plane was nearing its destination.

Flight attendants used a thermal containment bag to control the fire. The Airbus A321 landed safely at DFW at approximately 6:55 p.m. local time. The FAA has launched an investigation into the incident.
