4 weeks ago 0

In New York, Adam Copeland and Christian Cage captured the AEW Tag Team Championship at the Double or Nothing event. They ended a long 25-year wait for a tag team title by defeating Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler, known as FTR, in a hard-fought match.

Intense Battle

The match was intense, featuring ladders, tools, and a flaming table. Despite the escalating brutality, neither team of wrestlers considered quitting. During the brawl, Christian Cage suffered repeated arm injuries, while Wheeler sustained a nose injury. All competitors experienced the harsh effects of barbed wire.

Unexpected Interference

Stokely Hathaway, representing FTR, intervened in the match, but Beth Copeland, once known as Beth Phoenix, appeared unexpectedly. She attempted to balance the situation, but was temporarily unable to make an impact after being neutralized.

At one point, Harwood set a table on fire. As Wheeler prepared to drive Beth Copeland through it, Hathaway was accidentally pushed into Wheeler’s path, resulting in Hathaway’s unplanned collision with the flaming table.

Victory for Copeland and Cage

Afterward, Copeland and Cage focused on Harwood, locking him in multiple submission holds. Beth Copeland provided assistance by handing a spiked bat to her husband, adding to Harwood’s misery. Ultimately, Harwood conceded, allowing Copeland and Cage to secure the championship.

Copeland and Cage are a renowned tag team, known for winning seven WWE tag team titles. This victory marks their first gold in AEW, bringing them back to prominence in the tag team world. Their previous tag team championship victory dates back to April 2001 at WrestleMania X-7 in a tables, ladders, and chairs match.

Their comeback to the top spot in the tag team division is a significant achievement after their long hiatus from championship glory.
