Spencer Pratt Responds to Criticism Amid Los Angeles Mayoral Campaign

4 weeks ago 0

Spencer Pratt, known for his role in the reality series ‘The Hills,’ is attracting considerable attention for venturing into politics. He is campaigning to become the mayor of Los Angeles, and his bid has gained momentum. Recently, the ‘Hacks’ star Hannah Einbinder criticized Pratt during an event.

Einbinder expressed concern over the political tendencies of wealthy individuals in Los Angeles, claiming that some who portray themselves as Democrats are guided by monetary interests. She remarked that these interests lead them to support candidates like Spencer Pratt, who has secured an endorsement from Donald Trump.

‘There’s a lot of wealth in this city, and I think there are people who masquerade as Democrats or people on the left, but really money is their key issue and that’s what leads them to vote for people like Spencer Pratt,’ Einbinder told Variety, urging people to resist his political rise.

Pratt addressed Einbinder’s commentary on social media, challenging the context of her remarks. He reposted a video of her comments on X, arguing against her perspective. ‘She says from a literal red carpet, surrounded by armed security, completely insulated from the horrors on our streets that Angelenos and their kids have to suffer through every day,’ he pointed out.

Continuing his response, Pratt expressed that he felt Einbinder was part of an elite minority that isn’t affected by the city’s issues, unlike the general population that seeks change. He wrote, ‘I’m glad she doesn’t have to suffer the consequences of Karen and Nithya’s failures, but she’s in an elite minority and the rest of us want change.’

In response to criticism from Lisa Rinna, Pratt drew comparisons between their pasts. Rinna, dismissing his candidacy, stated that the mayor shouldn’t be a former reality star. Pratt countered, referencing what he described as questionable actions of Karen Bass during her youth. ‘Hey Lisa, if you’re against me because I was on a TV show in my 20’s, wait til you learn what Karen Bass was doing in her 20’s,’ he posted on X, alongside a video of an interview with Fox 11.

Earlier this month, comedian Chelsea Handler also criticized Pratt’s run for mayor. She shared a video questioning the legitimacy of Pratt’s candidacy due to lack of government experience. Pratt retorted by making reference to Handler’s past association with Epstein, implying her criticism was unfounded. He shared, ‘Most of you have probably never heard of Chelsea Handler, so here’s an introduction!’ along with a video of a comedian roasting Handler.

Current polls indicate competitive standings among the candidates, with Karen Bass holding 26% support, Raman with 25%, and Pratt at 22% according to the Los Angeles Times.
