A joint effort between the FBI and Texas law enforcement has led to over 276 arrests for suspected child exploitation. The operation also resulted in the rescue of 89 children. These actions are part of Operation Soteria Shield, which is under the larger banner of Operation Iron Pursuit. This operation focused on individuals engaged in the online sexual exploitation, abuse, trafficking, and production of child sexual abuse material in North Texas.

FBI Director Kash Patel emphasized the agency’s commitment to tackling child predator networks and aiding victims. Speaking to Fox News Digital, Patel highlighted the importance of these efforts in disrupting such networks and ensuring victim safety nationwide.

Operation Soteria Shield, which took place during March and April, focused on identifying individuals exploiting children through online channels such as social media and messaging apps. Dallas Police Department Chief Daniel Comeaux stated that safeguarding children from exploiters is a crucial responsibility for law enforcement.

The operation involved 91 law enforcement agencies across Texas, showcasing a broad collaboration. FBI Director Patel commended the work done by law enforcement, noting the significant number of children rescued and predators apprehended. He stressed that the FBI’s focus on justice continues with urgency, having located over 6,940 child victims and arrested nearly 3,000 predators in the past year, marking significant increases.

Earlier, the FBI announced the detention of over 350 offenders involved in child sexual abuse as part of Operation Iron Pursuit, a nationwide initiative conducted in April. This coordinated effort seeks to identify and rescue child victims, while also bringing perpetrators to justice.
