Rachel Dratch is experiencing an exciting phase in her career, with her mystical podcast gaining popularity and her return to Broadway earning recognition. Known for her comedic talent, Dratch is diversifying her portfolio with ventures into the supernatural and theater.
Dratch openly discusses her views on ghosts, astral projection, and supernatural phenomena through her podcast “Woo Woo.” Despite these topics, she clarifies she does not have a psychic, stating, “Sometimes, because I have the podcast, I think it tips me into talking about a lot of this kooky stuff, and I’m not all about kooky stuff.” Her 2012 memoir, “Girl Walks Into a Bar…,” hinted at this interest, containing stories of prophetic dreams and her encounter with a channeler named Kendra. Kendra predicted Dratch would become a mother, a prophecy fulfilled a year later with the birth of her son, Eli.
At 60, Dratch is realizing career dreams as well. Her desire to perform in a Broadway comedy came true when she starred in “POTUS: Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass Are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive.” Recently, she returned to Broadway as the Narrator in Richard O’Brien’s “The Rocky Horror Show.” These performances have not only met her aspirations but have surpassed them, earning her Tony nominations.
While some acquaintances were surprised by her stage work, Dratch remarked that theater was her original performing outlet. This resurgence onto the stage proves her versatility and dedication to her craft, providing her audience with entertaining performances.
