The Tecate Emblema festival in Mexico City kicked off on Saturday night with performances from the Jonas Brothers, Louis Tomlinson, and Cazzu. Also featured were RuPaul, LP, and Lost Frequencies.
Jonas Brothers Return
Fans donning Jonas Brothers t-shirts filled the venue, eagerly awaiting the moment when Joe, Nick, and Kevin took the stage. They performed hits like “Love Me to Heaven,” “Only Human,” “S.O.S.,” “Sucker,” and “What a Man Gotta Do.” A fun segment included the band responding to fan sign requests with acoustic performances. Joe, wearing a Mexican soccer-inspired jersey, humorously picked a Colombian soap opera leading them to perform “Video Girl.”
The Jonas Brothers made a much-anticipated return to Mexico City after a four-year hiatus. Their previous show in 2024 was canceled due to Nick Jonas’s health issues, but they performed in 2025 at the Feria de las Fresas in Guanajuato.
Cazzu’s Diverse Show
Argentine artist Cazzu, excited to perform alongside the Jonas Brothers, opened her varied show with traditional Argentine music by dancers from the Ballet de Atahualpa Yupanqui. This included songs from her latest album “Latinaje.” Her repertoire also covered trap from her early releases, a cumbia cover of Selena Quintanilla’s “Si una vez,” and Mexican corridos with tracks like “Perdón si no te llamé” and “Dolce.”
Cazzu expressed her emotional connection with the audience, highlighting the multifaceted nature of her musical identity.
Louis Tomlinson’s Emotional Connect
Louis Tomlinson was another major highlight of the evening. Like the Jonas Brothers, Tomlinson hadn’t performed in Mexico City in four years, with his last appearance in Guadalajara in 2024. He entertained fans with songs such as “Lazy,” “Sunflowers,” and “Imposter.”
Tomlinson expressed his gratitude to the fans for their overwhelming support and love despite being far from home.
Technical Challenges
Heavy rain and lightning briefly delayed Cazzu’s set, requiring technical staff to clear water from the stage. During her performance, she faced issues with her earpiece that needed adjustment. Tomlinson also experienced minor technical troubles, and LP’s setup faced delays due to instrument installation challenges.
Despite these setbacks, LP delivered a vibrant performance with “When We’re High,” “Girls Go Wild,” “One Like You,” and “The One That You Love.” She expressed joy performing for her fans in Spanish.
RuPaul and Other Acts
RuPaul DJ’ed without drag attire, wearing a lime-green suit and a shirt with the phrase “¡Paren ese tren!” His set featured ’90s dance music like “Rhythm Is a Dancer” by Snap! and “Show Me Love” by Robin S, along with some disco anthems.
Throughout the day, Hercules and Love Affair performed with dancers and Icelandic singer Elín Ey, with audience members dancing in the rain.
Lost Frequencies closed the night with an electrifying mix of pop, house, and techno, featuring tracks like “Are You With Me,” “Dance In The Sunlight,” and “Where Are You Now.”
The festival continues on Sunday with performances by Sech, Gloria Trevi, Kenia Os, NSQK, and a DJ set by Paris Hilton.
