Memorial Day Wreath Laying Ceremony & Parade

Memorial Day marks the beginning of summer, but it’s also a time to honor those who served in the U.S. military and lost their lives. This year’s wreath-laying ceremony will take place at Daley Plaza. Sergeant Major Janet Sandoval, a Chicago native, will be the keynote speaker. The parade follows on Dearborn Street.

Time: Ceremony at 11 a.m., parade at noon

Sueños Music Festival

The Sueños Music Festival in Grant Park features J Balvin, Kali Uchis, and Fuerza Regida. With music across three stages, it’s a great way to kick off festival season. Can’t attend the festival? Dance at one of the many after-parties around the city.
