1 hour ago 0

A father, Stone Romberg, tragically lost his life while attempting to rescue a seagull caught in his fishing line. This unfortunate event took place in the Florida Panhandle, as reported by Fox 5 Atlanta. Romberg, originally from the Atlanta area, was fishing when he noticed the bird entangled in his line.

The 31-year-old father of two swam out to free the seagull. Unfortunately, the hook snagged his hand, and an ocean current pulled him further out to sea, resulting in his drowning.

“Our hearts are broken for everyone who knew and loved him,” stated a GoFundMe page created for his family.

Romberg worked as the manager of chair services at a local condominium complex. He was well-known among the owners and guests for his kind heart and readiness to help others.

A message on a Facebook page dedicated to his workplace praised Romberg for his hard work and kindness. It emphasized that his benevolence left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.

The GoFundMe established to support his family, who depended on Romberg financially, has raised $138,714. His passing leaves behind his wife, Taylor, and their two young daughters, aged one and three years.

Romberg was passionate about SEC football and the Atlanta Braves, as noted by Fox 5.
