Trump Announces New Weapons-Testing ‘Super Range’ in Montana
President Donald Trump revealed plans for a new ‘Super Range’ in Montana dedicated to the testing of advanced weapons and technologies. The announcement came during a campaign rally at the Majestic Valley Arena in Kalispell. The range will be overseen by the Department of War and will focus on testing autonomous weapons, space technology, electronic warfare, and both supersonic and hypersonic technologies.
‘Montana will play a crucial role in ensuring the continued dominance of the American military,’ Trump stated.
Campaign Support for Republican Candidates
Trump’s appearance in Kalispell aimed to bolster support for Republican Aaron Flint in the Montana 1st Congressional District race against Democrat Sam Forstag. This rally was part of his broader campaign efforts to endorse Republican candidates ahead of the November 3 midterm elections. Earlier that day, Trump campaigned in Arizona, marking his third rally during his Western campaign tour.
Trump Defends Gun Rights
Trump reaffirmed his commitment to Second Amendment rights, warning that Democrats could potentially threaten gun ownership. ‘If Democrats win, your guns could be taken away,’ he cautioned. Trump emphasized the importance of voting Republican, ensuring that the Second Amendment remains protected.
Highlighting National Rifle Association ratings, Trump contrasted Republican and Democratic candidates’ standings in Montana’s House and Senate races, stressing that Republican candidates received top ratings while their Democratic counterparts performed poorly.
Expansion of Hunting Access and Remarks on Tariffs
The rally also saw Trump discussing enhancements to hunting access on public lands. He humorously noted the specificity of his remarks about the Hailstone National Wildlife Refuge, questioning the audience’s familiarity with the location.
In his economic address, Trump defended tariffs, stating that they lead to wealth rather than inflation. He credited tariffs with saving American sawmills and countered claims of inflationary effects, even as the latest inflation report showed a yearly increase of 3.7%.
Trump additionally highlighted his tax policy changes, particularly regarding estate taxes, aiming to benefit farmers and ranchers by simplifying the process of passing land down to future generations.
