Trump Calls for Probe into ‘Paid Protesters’ Following Online Footage

1 hour ago 0

President Donald Trump sparked controversy on Truth Social this Sunday by demanding investigations into alleged ‘paid protesters’. This came after videos surfaced online showing a woman participating in multiple demonstrations.

On his social media account, Trump shared posts from Emily Miller, a conservative journalist who claimed the same woman attended separate protests months apart. These protests were against two projects promoted by Trump: one at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool and another at the proposed site for his triumphal arch.

The Reflecting Pool underwent renovations earlier this year, and the proposed 250-foot triumphal arch is planned to be located near Arlington Memorial Bridge, positioned between the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery.

However, neither Trump nor Miller have provided evidence that the woman was paid to attend these demonstrations or revealed who might have compensated her.

In a Truth Social post, Trump expressed gratitude towards Miller, mentioning that there are ‘many such people all over’ who ‘attempt to stop or defer Great Developments, Projects, and even Policies.’ He applauded Miller for catching the woman ‘REDHANDED.’

Trump has previously accused protesters against his administration and its policies of being paid participants. During the June 2025 protests in Los Angeles, he referred to some demonstrators as ‘paid insurrectionists’ and ‘paid troublemakers.’ He has also made similar accusations regarding protests against his administration’s immigration enforcement policies, suggesting that some protestors were professional or compensated agitators.

This news story is still developing and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
