J.J. McCarthy Joins New York Giants as Quarterback

1 day ago 0

Earlier this week, the New York Giants acquired quarterback J.J. McCarthy from the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for a 2027 fifth-round pick. This move comes as no surprise, given that quarterback Jaxson Dart is out for an extended period after knee surgery. With McCarthy adjusting to his new role on the Giants, wide receiver Malik Nabers shared positive remarks about his new teammate.

During a session with reporters, Nabers praised McCarthy’s strong arm and his quick adaptation to the Giants’ system. “Strong arm,” Nabers commented. “He has a pretty good arm, strong arm. He’s catching on quick. He’s out there, you know, throwing touchy footballs. I feel like he has confidence out there, and he’s targeting receivers pretty well.”

These comments from Nabers suggest that McCarthy is making a favorable impression with his teammates. McCarthy aims to have a significant impact once he officially debuts for the Giants.

McCarthy entered the NFL when the Vikings drafted him 10th overall in the first round of the 2024 draft. During the previous season with Minnesota, he played in 10 games, recording 11 touchdowns, 12 interceptions, and accumulating 1,632 passing yards. His completion rate stood at 57.6%. With this new opportunity with the Giants, it will be interesting to see how he performs.
