A social media video depicting an alleged pest contaminant in the product has gained significant attention, prompting the company’s swift investigation and recall. The video, which has accumulated over 230,000 views on TikTok, shows what appears to be a rodent in a jar of the pepperoncini product.
No illnesses or injuries have been reported in relation to the recalled product. This recall exclusively affects the GOLDEN GREEK PEPERONCINI MEDIUM HEAT, 32 oz., with lot number 720106 and SKU number 10106328. Other products remain unaffected.
Consumer Guidance
The alert specifies the company has pinpointed the distribution locations and customers who received the recalled jars. Efforts are underway to isolate and remove these products from retail locations.

“We tend to hear about these issues more frequently due to increased information access,” stated Keith Schneider, a food safety expert at the UF Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences. “We experience around 1.2 million salmonella cases and approximately 20 million norovirus instances each year. While the cyclospora cases are notably high this year, the overall numbers are not extraordinary.”
Schneider highlighted that although heightened awareness might suggest otherwise, many foodborne pathogens have been longstanding concerns.
