Tony Blair Warns Europe to Maintain U.S. Alliance

Former U.K. Prime Minister Tony Blair cautioned that Europe risks losing a conflict with Russia without U.S. support. He emphasized the importance for British leaders to maintain their alliance with the United States, particularly under President Donald Trump’s leadership.

“If we get drawn into a conflict without the support of America, we don’t win,” Blair explained to Kayleigh McEnany on “Saturday in America.”

Blair referred to the U.S.-U.K. relationship as critical for Western security, particularly as European nations assess threats posed by Russian President Vladimir Putin to NATO countries. While Blair expressed his belief that Putin does not significantly threaten nations beyond Ukraine’s borders, he acknowledged varying opinions across Europe.

Intelligence reports from the U.S. have suggested that Russia might attempt a limited attack on a NATO ally, aiming to weaken the organization’s cohesion. This speculation comes amid growing European concerns about Russia’s actions, following incidents involving drones and airspace violations.

Visual instances of such concerns have been documented, including a drone carrying explosives found near a Ukrainian cargo plane at a German airport. Further events including arson and unauthorized airspace entries have escalated the tension.

Despite these concerns, both U.S. and European nations focus on strengthening Ukraine’s defense against Russia’s aggressions, while avoiding full-scale involvement in the ongoing conflict.
