Craig Carton Criticizes Report Linking Tim Tebow to Life Surge Scandal

Craig Carton recently expressed criticism towards investigative reporter Pablo Torre for involving Tim Tebow in a report on Life Surge. Torre accused the Christian-focused group of using Tebow to promote a business model that pressured people to spend thousands without seeing returns. Carton acknowledged Torre as a “brilliant investigative reporter” but faulted him for implicating Tebow without clear evidence of his involvement.

During an episode of OutKick’s “The Craig Carton Show,” Carton stated, “Tim Tebow doesn’t deserve to be dragged into this unless you got him nailed. And if you don’t have him nailed to the cross on this story, you have defamed him. And if I’m Tim Tebow, I find that to be actionable. I find that to be regrettable.” Tebow has since announced he is “pausing” his relationship with Life Surge as they investigate the allegations. He told The Gainesville Sun, “I think the allegations are extremely serious, and it’s something that we take very serious. And so, for us, we’re having our team do an investigation, but also pausing our relationship until we can learn more about the facts to be able to understand more.”

Torre, along with Mother Jones, reported Tebow spoke at 20 Life Surge events between 2024 and 2025, with plans to participate in similar events in 2026. Carton took issue with Torre’s focus on Tebow, accusing him of leveraging Tebow’s reputation to advance his career. Carton stated, “You’re using Tim Tebow’s name and popularity to further your own career. You’re using Tim Tebow to get attention for your story.” He insisted if the allegations against Life Surge are true, a thorough investigation is necessary to protect people from potential fraud.

“That would be awful if that’s happening. But how dare you sully the name and reputation of a man who has only done things for others? A man that has dedicated his life to service of his Lord.”

Carton argued Torre put Tebow in a difficult position without proving Tebow’s knowledge or involvement. He expressed concern over the damage to Tebow’s public image, demanding accountability in reporting. Carton warned, “When you go down that road and you sully the reputation of somebody who’s dedicated his entire life to service, that is a slippery slope that I want no part of.”
