Social Media Influencer Faces Serious Charges

Influencer Accused

Braden Peters, also known as “Clavicular” online, has been accused by a 17-year-old girl of serious offenses. Peters, 20, is a social media influencer involved in a digital subculture promoting male physical appearance. Court records obtained by NPR outline charges stemming from an alleged incident on May 23, 2025.

Charges and Court Details

Peters faces charges of rape, drugging a person for sexual intercourse, and supplying liquor to a minor. These charges, filed in Orleans District Court on Cape Cod, Mass., on Sept. 8, were initially reported by The Bulwark. NPR tried contacting Peters but was unable to reach him. Peters’ representative, Mitchell Jackson, issued a statement denying the allegations.

Allegations and Communication

According to court documents, the victim began communication with Peters via Instagram, where he paid her to appear on livestreams to boost her social media presence. On May 23, 2025, Peters allegedly invited her to his home in Chatham, Mass., instructing her to claim she was 18 during a live video and to misrepresent alcohol as water. She reported feeling pressured to consume vodka.

The narrative continues, stating that Peters and the minor kissed and engaged in non-consensual sex. The plaintiff did not undergo a forensic exam following the alleged assault. NPR maintains a policy against identifying victims of sexual assault.

Civil Lawsuit

The same individual filed a civil lawsuit in Florida against Peters for battery, fraud, emotional distress, and misuse of likeness. This complaint, filed in Miami-Dade County, alleged Peters provided alcohol and engaged in non-consensual acts while she was a minor. It further claimed he injected her with unapproved substances during a livestream.

Attorney Andrew Moss, representing the plaintiff in the Miami case, confirmed her involvement in both legal proceedings. Peters’ representative criticized the plaintiff’s legal approach, highlighting amendments to her lawsuit over time.

Past Legal Issues

Peters has prior legal encounters. In March, authorities in Osceola County, Florida issued an arrest warrant following an incident where Peters allegedly instigated a fight between women and shared the footage online. Although arrested, charges were dropped.

In April, Peters was charged for unlawfully discharging a firearm in a viral video, where he and others fired at a dead alligator from an airboat.

Current Developments

Peters has not made an official public statement, but expressed disdain for the plaintiff across social media platforms. In posts on X, he criticized the plaintiff’s methods in seeking attention, labeling them as petty.

Peters’ arraignment is scheduled for Oct. 14, where he will face the charges in court.
