The 78th Emmy Awards took place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, with Mariska Hargitay as the host. This event marked the first time in 15 years that a woman hosted the ceremony.
“The Pitt” led with 25 nominations, closely followed by “Hacks” with a notable 24 nominations in its final season. Apple TV’s “Widow’s Bay” and “Pluribus” secured 19 and 18 nominations respectively.
Before the main event, the Creative Arts Emmys recognized standout performances. Shailene Woodley, Mariska Hargitay, Bad Bunny, and the late Rob Reiner were among the winners. “Widow’s Bay” took an early lead with eight awards, while “DTF St. Louis” achieved six wins.
Matthew Rhys made Emmy history by winning two lead acting awards in one night. He first won for his role in “The Beast in Me” and later for “Widow’s Bay.”
