A 33-year-old man died after an argument escalated into a physical confrontation in the West Pullman area. The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday in the 11500 block of South Halsted Avenue, according to Chicago police.
The man, identified as Davion L. Jackson from the Chicago Lawn neighborhood, was shot in the chest during an altercation with a group of people. He was transported to Roseland Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office confirmed Jackson’s identity and noted an autopsy is scheduled for Sunday. Authorities currently have no information on the shooter, and detectives from the Calumet Area are actively investigating the case.
