Suzy Kolber Discusses ESPN Layoff and Career Transition

In June 2023, ESPN undertook a significant talent layoff involving 20 personalities, including Suzy Kolber, Steve Young, Max Kellerman, and Jalen Rose. At that time, Kolber was the host of ESPN’s ‘Monday Night Countdown’ pregame show.

Recently, Kolber shared her experiences regarding her dismissal during a conversation on the ‘Sports Media with Richard Deitsch’ podcast. She recounted being informed by ESPN president Jimmy Pitaro that her name was noted on a whiteboard among the list of those affected by the layoffs. Kolber expressed her disbelief, especially as Pitaro mentioned uncertainty in her position at the company.

She recalled sitting in the kitchen with her daughter and expressing the likelihood of her situation.
