Larry Birkhead shared Dannielynn with the late Anna Nicole Smith. The two met at the Kentucky Derby in 2004, and Dannielynn was born in 2006. Following Smith’s death in 2007, Birkhead became the primary caregiver, raising Dannielynn with a focus on privacy.
Despite her sheltered upbringing, Birkhead and Dannielynn maintain a tradition of attending the Kentucky Derby. The event holds sentimental value, marking the place where Birkhead met Smith.
In an interview with Fox News Digital, Birkhead shared that attending the event honors the past while creating new memories. “Since I did meet her mom there, it started off just kind of me taking her back and showing her around,” he stated.
