Adam Carolla Discusses Los Angeles Population Shift

Comedian Adam Carolla commented on the dramatic changes in Los Angeles during a recent appearance on the “Hang Out with Sean Hannity” podcast. According to Carolla, the city has transformed from a place where residents rarely left to one where many are eager to move elsewhere.

“No one ever left LA,” Carolla remarked. “People would only leave if job opportunities or retirement plans required relocation.” Now, Carolla notes, residents are more willing to relocate to nearly any destination.

Carolla described how friends now respond with “Anywhere.”

He highlighted this shift as a sign of broader issues affecting Los Angeles. Many are not moving for specific opportunities but instead feel compelled to leave.

“That’s a bad sign,” Carolla stated, pointing out that departures are increasingly due to dissatisfaction rather than planned career moves or retirement. He attributes some of this sentiment to ongoing challenges in the city, such as the homelessness crisis and economic strain on high-tax areas.

Carolla has criticized California’s political leadership, including Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, over governance issues that, in his view, have contributed to these problems.

Previously, Carolla shared plans to relocate from California once his children complete high school, indicating his lack of confidence in the state’s direction.
