RFK Jr. Launches Cooking Show for Healthy Eating

2 weeks ago 0

HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has introduced a new cooking show titled The Real Food Show, co-hosted with celebrity chef Andrew Gruel. This program aims to promote healthy eating habits across America.

The initiative is part of Kennedy’s ongoing efforts to tackle chronic health issues through nutritional education.

A-Rod’s Dietary Changes Post-Baseball

Former MLB star Alex Rodriguez, known as A-Rod, recently discussed his dietary habits. Unlike his active baseball days, Rodriguez consumes less food now. “During my 25-year career, I ate a lot more,” he shared in a Men’s Health video.

He recounted eating frequent meals full of steak, potatoes, rice, and beans. “You’re burning so many calories when you’re playing 162 games,” Rodriguez explained.

Currently, at 51, A-Rod balances his eating with a mix of diverse foods, including both healthy options and indulgent snacks. Water, eggs, and fruits like bananas and apples are essentials in his kitchen. He typically eats three to four meals a day with an added protein shake.

Snack Preferences and Pantry Staples

A-Rod admits to having a stash of snack foods like barbecue chips and Cheetos. “This is where I do my best work — at 2 a.m.,” he joked about enjoying his snacks late at night. However, liver is a food item never seen in his kitchen.

Meals and Dietary Habits

For breakfast, Rodriguez enjoys eggs, oatmeal, bacon, orange juice, and water. Lunch often consists of salad with balsamic vinaigrette paired with chicken or fish. He prefers steak or salmon for dinner with sweet potato fries.

While he never dieted intentionally, Rodriguez acknowledges his relationship with food is strong. He reminisced about eating more during his baseball career: “Today I probably under-eat, which is not good.” He now recognizes the need to consume more healthy proteins and fruits.

Favorite Foods and Traditions

His comfort foods reflect his Dominican heritage and include rice and beans, plátanos maduros, and tostones. On special occasions, he savors a big steak or sushi.

Rodriguez has simple fast-food preferences, favoring a double Whopper with cheese. Although enjoying Burger King’s burgers, he prefers McDonald’s fries. As a coffee enthusiast, A-Rod drinks seven to eight cups daily and uses Celsius energy drinks for workouts. He incorporates protein shakes and takes various vitamins.

His ballpark favorite is the Dodger Dog, along with warm pretzels. Unusually, he enjoys combining a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with deli turkey.
