Karoline Leavitt Discusses Advising President Trump on Her Successor

Karoline Leavitt will soon leave her role as White House press secretary, but she remains influential in advising President Donald Trump on her replacement. In her last official interview, Leavitt confirmed she has been offering guidance on her successor as interest in the position grows.

“Of course, we’ve spoken about it,” said Leavitt during an appearance on “Fox & Friends.”

President Trump has been active in holding numerous press events, accumulating 2.4 million words recorded by stenographers in his first year back in the Oval Office. Leavitt noted the strong interest in the press secretary role, highlighting the many capable applicants vying for the position.

While not naming specific candidates, Leavitt mentioned she has shared her thoughts with Trump on essential qualities for the next press secretary. She hopes to assist in the decision-making process as long as Trump seeks her input.

“Ultimately, it has to be his decision to make,” Leavitt stated. “The press secretary and the president spend a lot of time together, so it must be someone he trusts fully. I know he’ll decide wisely, and I’m here to help if needed.”

Reflecting on her tenure, Leavitt described her departure as “bittersweet” due to her fondness for the role and her desire to spend more time with her young children.

“It’s bitter because I’m leaving a job that I love so much,” she remarked. “It has been an honor and a blessing to work for President Trump. Serving as his spokesperson has been the adventure of a lifetime.”

Leavitt appreciated Trump’s support, noting his understanding nature as she decided to leave the West Wing.
