White Sox Outfielders Shine in Victory

The Chicago White Sox showcased strong performance from their outfielders in a 10-4 win over the Texas Rangers at Rate Field on Wednesday. Left fielder Tristan Peters had an impressive game, going 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs, and scoring twice. Peters matched the franchise record by hitting a home run in his fifth consecutive game.

Center fielder Brenton Doyle contributed with two hits, including a three-run home run, tallying four RBIs. Right fielder Braden Montgomery added an RBI double and scored two runs, helping the Sox secure two wins out of the three-game series.

White Sox manager Will Venable expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance, stating, “It was one of those days that everyone contributed.” The result kept the Sox 2 1/2 games ahead of the Cleveland Guardians in the American League Central standings.

Sox Overcome Challenges

Despite eight walks allowed by starter Sean Burke in just over three innings, the team managed to pull through. Burke conceded two runs on two hits, struck out three, and acknowledged his struggles saying, “It was pretty terrible.” He mentioned needing to “flush it in the next 24 hours,” emphasizing the importance of moving on.

The bullpen played a crucial role, with reliever Sean Newcomb pitching three scoreless innings, while Jonathan Cannon allowed two runs over three innings to earn the save. “Good time for an off day,” Burke added, acknowledging the strong support from his teammates.

Montgomery’s RBI doubled in a productive second inning. Peters continued his streak with a two-run homer in the fifth inning against reliever Robby Ahlstrom, further extending the team’s lead. Peters now shares the home run streak record with notable past players including Munetaka Murakami and others.

Doyle’s Contribution

Doyle’s three-run homer came in the midst of a four-run sixth inning. Reflecting on his performance, Doyle said, “I felt good all night.” His confidence at bat was evident as he connected strongly with the ball, sending it over the fence.

The team concluded a 4-3 homestand with added momentum. Venable remarked on the positive end to a challenging stretch of 16 games in 16 days, appreciating the series victory.
