Controversial Video Removal by Golf Sponsor

Content creator Good Good Golf, the title sponsor for a new PGA Tour event this fall, recently faced controversy. They posted and then removed a video promoting a Callaway driver. In the video, a man is seen pushing a woman to the ground as she reaches for his new driver.

The video, featuring Garrett Clark and Alexis Miestowski from Good Good, was taken down on Friday after facing backlash for depicting violence against women. The ad, however, continued circulating on social media despite its removal from official channels. As Clark shoves Miestowski in the video, he tells her, “Do not touch my new driver.”

On Saturday, Good Good issued an apology on social media. Their statement read, “We posted a video to our channels that ultimately depicted actions that are not aligned with our values as a brand. We have since taken that content down and sincerely apologize. Good Good has always stood for making the game of golf more inclusive to all, and we will continue to ensure that is our mission going forward.”

Good Good Golf began as a YouTube channel in 2020. It has grown to be a significant presence in golf content creation, showcasing eight men and four women participating in various golf challenges. They also produce made-for-TV shows and offer apparel and merchandise. Callaway Golf partnered with Good Good in 2023.

Callaway Golf responded with a statement expressing disappointment over the posted content and appreciation for Good Good’s action in addressing the issue. “We look forward to working together to ensure a more inclusive space in golf,” they said.

The PGA Tour has collaborated with content creators over recent years, with Good Good’s role as a title sponsor marking a significant development. The Good Good Championship is part of the FedEx Cup Fall, scheduled for November 12-15 in Austin, Texas.

The PGA Tour issued a statement emphasizing its belief in golf’s power to unite people and maintain a welcoming environment for all. They reiterated their stance against violence, noting that the removed video does not align with their values or their dedication to inclusivity and respect.
