Hayden Panettiere, best known for her roles in ‘Remember the Titans’ and the sci-fi series ‘Heroes’, has died at the age of 36. Her representative confirmed her passing to CBS News, sharing a statement from her father, Skip Panettiere. ‘It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden,’ he said. ‘She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her and to the millions who watched her onscreen. We ask for privacy as our family takes time to process this unimaginable loss.’

Details about the circumstances of her death have not been disclosed. Panettiere’s career spanned over thirty years, encompassing roles in movies and television such as the ‘Scream’ horror film series and the drama ‘Nashville’.

In recent years, she had spoken openly about the challenges she faced growing up in the spotlight. Her memoir, ‘This Is Me: A Reckoning’, was released in May and explored her childhood, struggles with addiction, experiences with physical abuse, and journey to recovery. In an interview with Gayle King, she reflected on her early career, saying, ‘When your mother has chosen to take the 8-month-old baby into those audition rooms, and it went from there and progressed into 50 commercials by the time I was 5… It just never stopped.’

Panettiere also addressed her personal challenges, including entering a treatment facility in October 2015 for postpartum depression after the birth of her first child in December 2014. By 2018, she had given full primary custody of her daughter, Kaya, to her ex-fiancé, Wladimir Klitschko.
