During a recent appearance on “The Tamsen Show” podcast, Chrissy Metz addressed criticism about her weight loss journey. The 45-year-old actress shared her experiences dealing with negative comments as she starts a new chapter in her health journey.
Facing Public Scrutiny
Metz spoke about the persistent negativity she encounters. “People still make comments,” she noted, expressing disbelief over ongoing criticism. She recounted an incident where a distant relative praised her efforts to “take control” of her weight. However, Metz highlighted how online comments often echo similar sentiments.
It’s interesting what people say cause would they ever say it to you on the streets? Never.
She elaborated on the variety of remarks she receives, from inquiries about her clothing to critiques of her weight and appearance.
Embracing Choices and Challenges
Currently starring in the Broadway musical “& Juliet,” Metz describes receiving criticism while pursuing her career as an “act of rebellion.”
She also discussed taking GLP-1 medication, a decision initially met with skepticism. The turning point came after her father’s passing due to obesity-related complications.
The medication helped “quiet the food noise,” a concept she found revelatory. “Not everybody hears that all the time?” she questioned, acknowledging the hereditary and metabolic issues in play, and how they influenced her choice to seek help.
Partnering With Health Solutions
Finally, Metz announced her partnership with Ro, a telehealth company offering medications for various conditions, including weight loss. This collaboration marks another step in her commitment to health and well-being.
