Chamberlain’s personal history with Evonitz began on June 24, 2002. While visiting a friend in South Carolina, Evonitz abducted her. Chamberlain was forced into a car with a gun to her neck. Her instincts, honed during the ordeal, helped her survive and ultimately escape.
Once she gained freedom, Chamberlain went to the police. Her keen observations led authorities back to Evonitz’s apartment. However, Evonitz avoided capture and subsequently died by suicide in Florida.
Evonitz was linked to the murders of three girls in Virginia. Additional evidence hinted at other potential victims, yet questions remain.
Chamberlain believes Evonitz had more victims. Her experiences bring empathy and insight to families still searching for answers about their loved ones.
