Three Pakistanis Among Victims in Houthi Attack on Ship

A total of six individuals died in the incident on Tuesday. Dar stated that such attacks endanger lives, violate international laws, and threaten maritime security in the Red Sea. The attack reflects a series of Houthi strikes on Yemeni government forces and oil facilities in Saudi Arabia. Many of these assaults targeted the government-held port city of Mokha on the Red Sea. Numerous government troops and civilians have died in these attacks over the past week, heightening fears of a potential rekindling of Yemen’s civil war and extending the conflict in the Middle East.

Pakistan’s Diplomatic Efforts to Ease Tensions Between U.S. and Iran

Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met with Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam in Islamabad to pursue peace talks between Iran and the U.S. This meeting followed the visit of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to Tehran for discussions with Iranian leaders. An interim peace deal, brokered in June, is nearing its expiration date as tensions have flared with recent exchanges of strikes between the U.S. and Iran.

Turkey criticized Colombia’s decision to acknowledge Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, claiming it legitimizes Israel’s territorial occupation. After Abelardo de la Espriella’s initiation as Colombia’s president, the nation followed the U.S. in recognizing Israeli authority over the Golan Heights, a territory taken by Israel during the 1967 Middle East war.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry emphasized that the region is part of Syria. The United Nations also recognizes it as Syrian territory. Turkey urges global efforts to terminate Israel’s control over the Golan Heights and other Syrian regions.

Israeli Forces Accused of Demolishing Lebanese Buildings

Lebanon’s state news agency reported Israeli troops in the village of Zawtar al-Sharqiyah, southern Lebanon, demolished structures including a municipal building and a children’s nursery. The village’s municipal council condemned the actions as a crime. This area is near a “pilot zone” where Israeli troops are supposed to withdraw, handing control to the Lebanese army as Hezbollah disarms.
