Joe Biden’s Ongoing Battle with Prostate Cancer

Hunter Biden has shared that his father, former President Joe Biden, is experiencing significant pain due to the spread of his prostate cancer. During an interview with the BBC, Hunter explained that the cancer has metastasized into Joe Biden’s bones, making the condition quite debilitating.

“The cancer has spread, metastasized into his bones and further,” Hunter Biden stated. “It’s very painful and debilitating in many respects.”

Despite the challenges, Hunter noted that his father remains relatively active, continuing to attend speaking engagements. He expressed a wish for his father to be more vocal about his discomfort.

Joe Biden was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer in May 2025, soon after leaving the Oval Office. The diagnosis revealed that the cancer had already spread to his bones, and a Gleason score of 9 indicated its aggressive nature.

According to Dr. Ezekiel J. Emanuel, an oncologist at the University of Pennsylvania, Biden likely had cancer at the start of his presidency in 2021, suggesting it was not diagnosed in its initial stages.

Jill Biden, the former First Lady, mentioned on ABC’s “The View” that the diagnosis and treatment have impacted Joe Biden’s pace, noting that his rigorous schedule is now more challenging at the age of 83.

“He keeps his schedule, but he’s slowed down,” she mentioned. “Stage four cancer is — and he’s 83 — so, I think the mix of everything and the medications that he’s taken have made life more difficult these days.”
