‘Buffet Infinity’

This year has brought several innovative low-budget horror films like “Obsession” and “Backrooms.” “Buffet Infinity,” written and directed by Simon Glassman, adds to that list with an unconventional approach. The film unfolds through local TV commercials and news reports, piecing together the tale of a suspicious all-you-can-eat restaurant expanding its reach in Alberta. Additional narratives emerge from these fragments, including the struggles of a religious cult opposing the restaurant. Initially reminiscent of late-night TV sketch comedy, “Buffet Infinity” evolves into a darker, surreal experience.
