A suburban area near Boston, Massachusetts, is currently seeking assistance to identify a masked prowler captured on surveillance. The Weston Police Department reported that cameras at a property recorded a masked individual with a bicycle helmet from approximately 2:30 to 3:30 a.m. on August 2. Authorities are asking for the public’s help to investigate this suspicious activity.
Despite no evidence of home entry, police noted the individual’s masked presence on private property during nighttime hours indicated potentially unlawful intentions. “Based on the circumstances, we believe the person’s intentions were likely not lawful,” police stated.
Weston is renowned for its luxurious real estate and proximity to Boston. It ranks among the state’s most exclusive areas. The suspect seemed to emerge from a nearby trail, advancing toward a Highland Street residence with a flashlight.
Images released include one showing the person directing a flashlight at a garage with three car capacity. Another suggests the individual took a hunting chair from the property to nearby woods.
Weston Police Chief Denis Linehan expressed concern, telling CBS Boston, “It’s creepy, there is no doubt about it.” He emphasized the alarming nature of such activities, particularly during the early morning hours.
Authorities are now urging locals to scrutinize their home surveillance or doorbell camera footage from that morning.
“Footage capturing someone walking, biking, or even leaving the area could be valuable to our investigation,” they explained.
