The Dallas Wings will relocate to downtown Dallas next season, sharing the American Airlines Center with the NBA’s Mavericks. This temporary plan for home games at the 20,000-seat arena follows an announcement by Wings officials.
Delays at the facility have prompted the move. The renovation of the Dallas Memorial Auditorium, where the Wings agreed to play under a 15-year agreement signed in 2024, is ongoing. The auditorium, located a few blocks from AAC, will have a seating capacity of 10,000 once completed.
“Today’s announcement marks a pivotal step in the team’s relocation to Dallas as well as our continued growth as a professional sports enterprise,” said Wings CEO Greg Bibb.
Additionally, a new $55 million training facility is under construction in Dallas. The Wings are scheduled to shift operations to this new facility by next April. Since arriving in North Texas in 2016, the Wings have been based at College Park Center, University of Texas at Arlington, with seating for 6,251. This venue is situated approximately 20 miles from downtown Dallas.
The Wings played two regular-season games at AAC in 2025 and beat the Chicago Sky last month. They plan to host two more home games at the arena this season.
