Halle Berry is taking time for a tropical escape before reaching her 60th birthday. The 59-year-old actress posted several pictures from her getaway in Fiji, showcasing serene mornings, poolside relaxation, and beachside sunset walks.

In one snapshot, Berry posed by the shore wearing an animal-print cover-up over a black lace bodysuit as the sun set into the ocean. Her flowing wrap featured wide sleeves and tassel details, with her short hair blown across her face as she smiled at the camera.

Berry recently discussed her outlook on aging during an appearance on Hoda Kotb’s “Making Space” podcast. She expressed satisfaction at reaching 60, realizing it is different from her previous expectations.

“I’m so happy to still be here,” Berry stated. “When I was growing up, I thought of 60 as old, but at 60, it’s not old at all. This is 60, and it’s not so bad.”

As she approaches this milestone, Berry feels more comfortable in her own skin, saying she’s felt better now than she has in many years.

Embracing Personal Freedom

Berry explained that she has stopped worrying about meeting others’ expectations. “You do stop managing everybody’s expectations,” she told Kotb. “You start to realize you’re often the oldest person in the room, which gives you the freedom to do and say what you want.”

She also dispelled the notion that turning a certain age should mean stepping away from her career permanently. Berry argues that fulfilling work provides purpose and connection, challenging expectations related to women and aging.

Berry recalled being asked whether she plans to continue acting. “Are you still going to keep working in movies?” to which she responds affirmatively, questioning why she should stop.

She encourages her daughter, Nahla, to choose work she loves, ensuring retirement never feels like the ultimate goal.
