In Twin Falls, Idaho, a shooting occurred at an In-N-Out Burger restaurant, resulting in multiple deaths and injuries. Police Chief Matthew Hicks confirmed the shooter was among the deceased. As of now, the identity and motive of the shooter remain unknown.
Hicks assured the public that the threat has ended. However, the exact number of casualties and injuries is unconfirmed as authorities notify the families involved. He described the scene as chaotic.
Prior to the news update, Twin Falls County Commissioner Brent Reinke mentioned that Sheriff Jack Johnson reported five injuries. Eye witness Lane Koehn, 34, saw an individual with an AR-style rifle at the drive-thru. He recounted seeing a man with a pistol firing at the shooter. Koehn observed an In-N-Out employee helping a wounded colleague, who appeared seriously injured, to safety. Paramedics soon attended to them.
Koehn was instructed by police to evacuate as the shooting continued. The shooter reportedly fired three or four rounds without appearing to target specific individuals. The incident happened in a busy shopping area, with many people present, Hicks noted.
Law enforcement is interviewing witnesses and urges anyone with information to come forward. The incident, which came to light around 4 p.m., prompted responses from multiple agencies. Police advised the public to avoid the vicinity as roads were temporarily closed.
St. Luke’s Magic Valley spokesperson Taylor Marschner announced that the center is collaborating with law enforcement and emergency teams.
