Deebo Samuel, a former All-Pro wide receiver, has decided to rejoin the 49ers under a one-year contract valued at up to $7 million, as reported by ESPN. Samuel’s journey in the NFL started with the 49ers after they drafted him in the second round in 2019, recognizing his potential from South Carolina.
Throughout his tenure with the 49ers, Samuel contributed significantly to the team, helping them make two Super Bowl appearances. He was distinguished with All-Pro honors in 2021, achieving 1,770 yards from scrimmage and scoring 14 touchdowns.
In 2025, Samuel was traded to the Washington Commanders for a fifth-round draft pick. During that season, he recorded 72 catches accumulating 727 yards and five touchdowns. As of March, he entered free agency and has opted to return to the 49ers, offering his talent to bolster the team’s capabilities in light of Pearsall’s injury.
