Search Continues for Missing North Carolina Woman in Grenada

4 days ago 0

Elizabeth “Liz” Waddell, a 43-year-old physical therapist from Cary, North Carolina, went missing on July 22 while vacationing with a friend in Grenada. The last sighting of Waddell occurred at Grand Anse Beach, where she had gone for a swim.

Surveillance footage, shared by her family on YouTube, captures a person resembling Waddell near a pool, holding a towel. Moments later, she appears to walk towards the water and jump in for a swim. The video, reportedly from an Airbnb property’s surveillance system, might be the last visual evidence before her disappearance.

In a statement, Liz’s husband, Cailen Waddell, expressed the family’s exhaustive search efforts and consultations with local authorities and the U.S. Embassy. He stated that they don’t suspect foul play in her disappearance.

Since arriving in Grenada soon after Liz disappeared, Cailen Waddell has actively participated in the search alongside authorities. Randy Connaught, the commissioner of the Royal Grenada Police Force, indicated during a news conference that no conclusions have been reached regarding Liz’s disappearance.

The Royal Grenada Police Force has deployed dive teams, drones, and dogs in an effort to locate Waddell. The ongoing investigation is exploring multiple avenues while requesting assistance from anyone with relevant information.
