In an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, Zelenskyy discussed how Ukraine’s technological advancements have altered the battlefield. He reflected on the late Sen. Lindsey Graham’s unwavering support for Ukraine.
Zelenskyy noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin had initially claimed that Russia would occupy Ukraine within days. Now, Ukraine has developed a robust military technology sector with 500 companies specializing in advanced technologies.
‘A NEW KIND OF WAR’: UKRAINE’S MILITARY INNOVATIONS
Ukraine’s military technology advancements have led to an innovation race. Strategies are constantly evolving, and weapons like drones need regular adaptation. Zelenskyy underscored the need for Ukraine to innovate faster than Russia, which has a larger population. He emphasized the importance of safeguarding Ukrainian lives through technology.
Recently, Ukraine demonstrated its capability to strike deep into Russian territory, including attacks near Moscow and disruptions to Crimea’s power grid. Zelenskyy revealed that Putin is losing 30,000 soldiers monthly, indicating a shift in the initiative away from Moscow.
CEASEFIRE NEGOTIATIONS AND DIPLOMATIC EFFORTS
Zelenskyy mentioned that he continues to advocate for ceasefire talks and hopes for a resolution to the conflict. However, Putin remains uninterested in dialogue, and Zelenskyy noted their last conversation was in 2020.
The Ukrainian president praised Graham as a strong supporter of Ukraine, noting his numerous visits to Ukraine to understand the situation firsthand. Zelenskyy acknowledged Graham’s contribution to advancing Ukraine’s cause and highlighted the significance of the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026 in the Senate.
EXPANDING DEFENSE COOPERATION WITH THE U.S.
Zelenskyy met with President Donald Trump to discuss enhancing defense cooperation between Ukraine and the United States. They agreed on licensing Ukraine to domestically produce American-designed patriot missiles, indicating continued strategic collaboration.
