Charley Hull’s Lighthearted Prank on Her Caddie

6 days ago 0

Charley Hull enjoys keeping things fun, both on and off the golf course. Ahead of the Women’s British Open at Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club in England, she shared a humorous tale involving her caddie, Adam Woodward. Woodward has worked with Hull for over a decade, sharing many successes. Yet, Hull recently tested his patience with a prank.

The day before, Hull visited a prank shop and bought a fake scratch-off lottery ticket. The next morning, in the player’s lounge, she handed the ticket to Woodward. Without suspecting a thing, he scratched it off, believing he had won $100,000. As Hull described it, Woodward was overjoyed, removing his hat and glasses, announcing his win, and even considering a day off.

“He was sweating, he was trembling, he couldn’t believe his luck,” Hull recounted, laughing. “We had to tell him it was fake, and he nearly quit the job.”

Images of Hull and Woodward were taken during various tournaments, emphasizing the bond between them despite the prank. Hull’s enjoyment of large purses at major championships often motivates her strong performances. Ranked seventh in the world, she has finished runner-up in three of the five major events, keen to win her first major in her home country.
