A United States and Russian space crew landed safely in the steppes of Kazakhstan on Sunday after spending eight months at the International Space Station. NASA astronaut Chris Williams, along with Russian cosmonauts Sergei Kud-Sverchkov and Sergei Mikaev, landed in their Soyuz MS-28 capsule, which made a gentle touchdown aided by parachutes in a designated area southeast of Dzhezkazgan.
Their 241-day stay at the orbital outpost marked the first space mission for Williams and Mikaev, and the second for Kud-Sverchkov.
