Tropical Storm Bertha struck the area close to New Orleans on Wednesday. By Thursday, the storm was moving toward Houston. Although the storm centered around these areas, significant weather conditions were forecasted to occur much farther away.
The severe weather associated with Bertha was anticipated to impact regions over 800 miles from the storm’s center. Specifically, North Carolina and southern Virginia were expected to experience some of the storm’s harshest conditions.
