South Dakota’s New Education Requirement on Prenatal Development

3 weeks ago 0

The South Dakota Board of Education Standards recently approved three films that align with legislative mandates, including one created by an anti-abortion group.

South Dakota House Bill 1313 has introduced a requirement for public schools to present students with videos focused on prenatal development. These videos must be deemed both age-appropriate and supported by research.

This legislation is seen by some as potentially controversial, likened metaphorically to a ‘coyote in sheep’s clothing’ by its critics. The phrase suggests that the law’s true intentions might be masked by its educational veneer.
