Despite these clear warnings, the administration under President Trump continues to rely heavily on fossil fuels. This stance allows China to take a leading role in developing green energy technologies crucial for the future economy. This approach appears short-sighted, offering little optimism for what’s ahead.

Reflecting on historical shifts, one can’t help but wonder about America’s future. Consider Kaifeng, a city on the Yellow River in China. Today it’s a quiet place, but a thousand years ago it was a bustling capital with a population of one million, vastly larger than London’s 15,000 at that time. Other historical powers, such as the Byzantine Empire, the Abbasid caliphate, and the Ghaznavid Empire also faced challenges in maintaining their dominance and adapting to changes.
