Lee Greenwood Relaunches Soldier Valley Spirits for America’s 250th Anniversary

Grammy Award-winning country music icon Lee Greenwood, known for his patriotic song “God Bless the USA,” is reintroducing Soldier Valley Spirits just in time for America’s 250th birthday. The original distillery closed in 2024, but Greenwood has revived the brand, which supports veterans and first-responder charities.

“We’re really excited to relaunch this product,” Greenwood said in an interview. Soldier Valley Spirits has always been a charity organization. A portion of the proceeds from each bottle sold aids charities including Helping a Hero, the Tunnels to Towers Foundation, and Folds of Honor.

The spirits lineup features whiskey, bourbon, and vodka. The “America’s 250th Birthday Collection” includes all three in commemorative World War II-inspired canteen-shaped bottles, designed by a former Army sergeant.

Greenwood emphasized the company’s dedication to supporting military heroes and their families. The company’s website highlights its core values of faith, family, and service to the country. He sees these spirits as fitting for weddings, sporting events, or as an after-dinner drink at bars or casinos.

Soldier Valley Spirits aims to reach as many stores as possible and is available online for shipping to most states. Greenwood is also leading high-profile events for the 250th anniversary, including his introduction of President Donald Trump at the Freedom 250 celebration during the Great American State Fair.

The 83-year-old has participated in over 30 USO tours and received the National Patriot Award from the Congressional Medal of Honor Society. He was appointed to the National Endowment for the Arts council in 2008 and later served on the Kennedy Center Board of Trustees.

Greenwood shared that Soldier Valley Spirits is another way to honor those who serve the country, with these premium spirits celebrating shared values while supporting veterans and first-responder families.

During his career, Greenwood has extensively entertained troops, starting with his first USO tour in 1989. He honors the contributions of people like Bob Hope, who greatly inspired him. Greenwood wrote “God Bless the USA” on the back of a bus and feels proud of the opportunities America has offered him.

The song peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart in 1984 and charted again during key moments such as the Gulf War and after September 11. In 2020, it topped Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart.

Greenwood is set to receive the 2026 All-American Icon Award and perform at the Countdown 250 Ball in Washington, D.C.
