5 days ago 0

Authorities in South Carolina confirmed on Friday that the body discovered earlier in the week is that of Elena Moore, who disappeared on June 11. The Lexington County Coroner’s Office noted that the cause and manner of Moore’s death are currently unknown. An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday, with more details expected on Monday.

Elena Katherine Moore, aged 39, was last seen on June 11, leaving a gym in Lexington. Her body was found on Wednesday afternoon near this location in Lexington, a city with a population of about 23,000, situated west of Columbia.

Lexington Police Chief Terrence Green informed reporters that the identification was initially based on a clothing description. He added that the discovery was due to a tip generated by news coverage. However, Green remained tight-lipped about whether foul play is suspected in Moore’s disappearance.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is in charge of the death investigation. A spokesperson from the department has not yet commented on the situation as of Friday night.
