Authorities have identified a suspect in connection with the shooting that injured 12 people near Toledo’s Old West End Festival. Police are actively searching for a second suspected gunman.
Suspect and Description
The Toledo Police Department has launched a manhunt for Ka Nye Taylor. He faces 11 counts of felonious assault related to the shooting on June 6 near the popular Old West End Festival. This annual event showcases live music, food vendors, and home tours. Taylor is described as a Black male, approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing about 130 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Investigators have also released a photo of a second suspected gunman, who has yet to be publicly identified.
Area of the Incident
The shooting happened near Delaware Avenue and Glenwood Avenue, close to the festival grounds, around 5:37 p.m. on a Saturday. Upon arrival, officers encountered multiple victims with gunshot wounds. Authorities confirmed that all 12 victims are in stable condition. The victims’ ages range from 14 to 61, with most being in their early 20s.
Investigation and Reward
Investigators are requesting the public’s assistance in locating Taylor and identifying the second suspect. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111. A combined reward of up to $15,000 is offered for information leading to arrests, with Crime Stoppers providing $10,000 and the U.S. Marshals Service offering an additional $5,000. Toledo Deputy Chief Joseph Heffernan stated that investigators believe at least two gunmen were involved.

The incident reportedly involved a foot chase and an assault between two rival groups at the festival. Authorities believe the violence was the result of a dispute between these groups. Lucas County Prosecutor Julia Bates expressed determination to deliver swift and strong justice, stating that the community’s safety and well-being remain a priority.
