Senators Question Park Fee Usage

2 weeks ago 0

Eleven senators have expressed concerns regarding the use of national park entry fees. They claim that these funds are being diverted toward what they describe as the president’s “vanity projects.” This was revealed in a letter addressed to Interior Secretary Doug Burgum.

The letter, sent by a group of lawmakers, includes Independent Sen. Angus King. He has stated that “much, if not all” of the revenues from online park pass sales might support these projects in Washington D.C.

On Sunday, construction workers were observed at the Lincoln Memorial’s Reflecting Pool, further fueling the discussion on how these funds are allocated. The senators are now pressing for clear answers from the Trump administration about the allocation of these resources.

The issue arises amid broader discussions about transparency and proper funding allocation within federal policies. This request for clarification is part of ongoing oversight efforts by lawmakers who aim to ensure that public funds are appropriately used.
