A 12-year-old boy from New Jersey, Xavier Taylor, remains in critical condition after suffering a head injury during pre-game warm-ups. The incident occurred last week at Fellowship Columbia Bank Field near Maple Shade.

Xavier was hospitalized on Tuesday night and transported to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey, according to law enforcement. The Maple Shade Youth Baseball Association is rallying support for Xavier and his family during this tough time.

Their primary goal is to offer support through prayers and assistance. The community and those across the nation have shown profound support.

Greg Taylor, Xavier’s father, shared with local media that his son continues to be in critical condition and relies on a ventilator. He remains hopeful for recovery.

The community held a vigil on Thursday night. Participants gathered at the field where Xavier was hurt, wearing his team number, No. 6, to show solidarity.

Supporting Xavier has extended beyond the vigil. The Maple Shade community lit Main Street in blue, representing his team’s color. The Maple Shade Youth Baseball Facebook page urged people to place baseball bats on porches as a gesture of support for Xavier’s recovery journey.

Other local teams have shown solidarity by sharing pictures in support of Xavier on social media platforms.
